BBGS GmbH: Works meeting with construction site visit in Baumholder

As part of this year's works meeting, all employees visited the Baumholder Army Lodge construction site, currently BBGS's largest construction project. The new construction project is performed by a joint venture between BBGS GmbH and PORR Hochbau West GmbH. It was a great opportunity, especially for colleagues from the back office, to find out more about the project by getting a first-hand impression.

Divided into two groups, the first group went straight to the construction site tour, while the second group was given a no less interesting insight into the theoretical part of the work by senior site manager Hubert Ackermann in the construction container. After approx. 1 hour, the groups switched and visited the large construction site under the guidance of site manager Sven Steinacker.

Experiencing the dimensions on site, the many construction requirements, but also the meticulous compliance with German and American building regulations and safety standards left a lasting impression on all visitors. “I was particularly impressed by the passion and pioneering spirit with which the colleagues here approached the project. The joint idea of using leftover concrete to produce the 170 concrete barriers for the lodge using on-site technology is ingenious. It's not only economical, but also sustainable,” comments an enthusiastic employee who is visiting the lodge for the first time. “The way every wheel in the machine meshes and works hand in hand makes you realize your own importance in the back office in a completely different way,” reflects another employee.

A little cold from the autumn weather, all employees then met with the management in the meeting room of a nearby restaurant for the works meeting. In addition to an encouraging review and outlook on the company's balance sheets, strategies and order situation, the management thanked all employees for their contribution to this successful business year.
