Martin Jeck: 40 years of service!

Special anniversaries should be honored and celebrated.

Congratulations to Martin Jeck on 40 years of full commitment to the company.

With a celebration with Martin´s closest colleagues at the Baumholder site, CFO Dominik Lembert thanked Martin Jeck in the name of the management and the team for his many years of dedication and loyalty: Forty years of service in the same company is not a common occurrence these days. Starting as an apprentice, Martin Jeck not only learned his trade from the ground up, but also developed over the years and extended his experience and has been passing it on to new employees.

Martin began his professional career as a bricklayer in 1984 at the Kaiserslautern branch of what was then Bilfinger Berger AG, HNL Südwest. After successfully completing his qualification, Martin remained with the company, where he managed - having successfully passed his master bricklayer examination in 1994 -the construction sites as a site foreman. Due to his expertise and dedication, Martin became indispensable on local construction sites and was employed to support the team in Aviano, Italy during the construction of the US hospital and thus pioneered the founding of BBGS Italia. His assignment and involvement in bridge construction for the SNCF near Paris, had a particular profound impression on Martin. Different mentalities, different ways of working, ‘wearing rubber boots for the shower’... there are countless anecdotes that he remembers. With pride Martin looks back also on a local project: he was part of the team that built the north stand of the FCK stadium in 1993/94. ‘A great project, and I also learnt a lot about formwork and reinforcement there,’ says Martin.

Martin has experienced a lot over the years: the transition from paper to digital office, from cable phone to smartphone, from fax to e-mail. But one thing always remained important to him: ‘Working in a team and finding solutions together’.

40 years with the company is an important milestone to reach! Great that Martin is still with BBGS!
